What is RODCHUCK?
RODCHUCK is a patent pending, rod threading system targeted primarily at the needs of the R/C Model Aircraft enthusiast. It allows the modeler to thread either 1/8" rods with 4-40 threads, or 3/32" rod with 2-56 threads.
While the primary application is for control linkages, there are a myriad of other uses in construction techniques, detailing and fabrication of structural members.
Why would you want to make your rods instead of buying them?
Here are a few good reasons---
- RODCHUCK rods are stiffer
than equivalent commercial offerings.
(This adds greater safety margins in high stress applications = safer flying and fewer crashed models.) - RODCHUCK rod quality can
be controlled since you choose the material that goes into the rod.
(If it is round and you can file it, you can thread it!) - RODCHUCK rods can be
custom fabricated to match the needs of your project.
(Otherwise you design your plane to accommodate what is in the hobby shop.) - RODCHUCK rods are less
expensive than equivalent commercial types.
(RODCHUCK can pay back in as few as 16 rods.) - RODCHUCK rods are easy to
make and require no elaborate or expensive equipment.
(RODCHUCK is no harder to use than an old fashion pencil sharpener.)

NEW Get a handle on your threading.
Due to popular request by those modelers that are producing large numbers of rods at one time, we found a way to put handles on the die holder. What we have done is modify the RODCHUCK die holder so it can be inserted into a standard 1” round die stock. If you are interested in this option we are now selling die stocks and the new model die holder. All current shipments are of the improved model die holder.
